The Delta Eta chapter (Seattle University) was founded in 1977. There are over 300 chapters on college and university campuses with over 300,000 members initiated since Beta Alpha Psi's formation. How It All Startedįounded in 1919, Beta Alpha Psi is an honor organization for financial information students and professionals. Beta Alpha Psi is a nationally recognized honors accounting and business information organization for students with proven academic excellence. The chapter has a duty to increase membership and student awareness of accounting as a career while working towared strengthening ties with faculty and alumni.īeta Alpha Psi represents a great step towards becoming an accounting professional. The Delta Eta chapter is determined to uphold the symbolism of Beta Alpha Psi of Scholarship, Social Responsibility, and Practicality. The Delta Eta chapter is dedicated to the cultivation of the individual as a professional through its sponsorship of programs involving various accounting related occupations. The chapter will help to strengthen an individual's self-understanding and the world around them by encouraging membership interaction with the business community, alumni, instructors, and fellow students. The Delta Eta chapter strives to demonstrate to its members their opportunities and responsibilities through the development of leadership and interpersonal skills against a background of ethical behavior. The chapter will seek to accomplish this by performing community service events in a responsible, accountable, and consistent manner. The Delta Eta chapter is committed to nurture an individual's preparation and commitment to the values of service to both the University and the overall community in which it thrives. In order to fulfill Seattle University's core mission and promote growth of its students with abilities to use knowledge and skill for their benefit and that of others, the Delta Eta chapter aims to foster a commitment to service, an increased sense of personal development and professional excellence, and a dedication to the principles of the national Beta Alpha Psi organization.
